Check out Concord on Aug. 4, 2017

Dear Concord Staff.

We had an energizing morning working with the Climate/ Culture Committee to develop are all school behavior expectations.  We look forward to sharing them with all of you. Thank you to the team for your energy, positive, and strong commitment to our students.

The building is looking great and there are really some exciting changes coming our way!  We will have some wonderful spaces to service our students.  Continue to check out the updates on the blog.

We are going to lay sod on Saturday and will begin to sprinkle right way.
We will finish outside pavement and striping on Wednesday.

Construction teams, together with school and district administration, are working to get staff access to their buildings as early as possible. We are tentatively planning for Concord to be accessible for staff  the week of August 21-25. We are expecting our "Certificate of Occupancy" from the City of Edina that week and that is our ok to enter the building.  I will keep you posted on specific progress and dates on a weekly basis.  Each building’s timeline is looking a little different depending on the work that is being done, so please be aware that our schedule and return plans may be different than other buildings.  Our district calendar has a work day scheduled for Aug. 25 but if the building is available prior you may log the hours on the linked Google Doc.    I know you are professionals but I do need this filled out for all employees.

We know it will be busy when we all move back into the building.  The custodial staff will be busy moving items and Mike may be out for a bit so we will have an book in the workroom for you to list needs. The custodial staff will check the book and complete tasks as soon as possible.  This will be an efficient way to address needs.  Please try to only list essential items for the start of the school year because I have a feeling they will be swamped.

I am confirming extra assignments and stipends.  If you have done these in the past, please email me what you are interested in doing this year.  It looks like we will have openings for 2 indoor playground supervisors as well and possibly a morning or afternoon drop off.

I realize this is a change from previous years and may impact some of your plans.  My hope is that we can stay positive and really work together to get our building ready to show off to our community.

Continue to visit the blog for updates. Here is our weekly connection to keep you informed of what's happening at Concord.

Enjoy your weekend!
